WHAT WE DO
We are committed to providing New York State public, private and charter schools with reliable, high-quality test scoring services. Since 2016 Premier Assessment Services has remained a recognized New York State Education Department (NYSED) scoring vendor and a Lead Scoring Entity for Questar Assessment’s Computer-Based Testing (CBT). Premier provides scoring services for all of the following NYS tests
- Grades 3-8 English Language Arts and Mathematics
- Grades 5 and 8 Science
- Kindergarten - Grade 12 NYSESLAT
- Kindergarten - Grade 12 NYSITELL
- Regents Exams
In addition to New York State tests, Premier scores locally-developed interim, progress-monitoring, and summative assessments.
Our team of scorers, scoring leaders and management staff have more than two decades of experience in providing schools and school districts across the state with quality scoring services performed strictly within NYSED guidelines and requirements. As part of our commitment to quality, our scoring staff is comprised of New York State certified teachers, each of whom brings a strong commitment to education.
Join our team
Premier is currently accepting applications for elementary, middle-level and high school certified teachers to score New York State tests. Eligibility is based upon area of certification and teaching experience. Openings are available for grades 3-8 ELA and mathematics, grades 5 and 8 science, NYSESLAT and all Regents exams .
Duties and Responsibilities
Scorers
Scorers must attend scheduled training sessions and successfully complete all requirements. Accuracy and consistency must be demonstrated throughout via ongoing read-behinds of scorer work or other processes as required by the NYSED. Scorers must commit to strictly following all NYSED scoring guidelines and policies, as well as those regarding test security and confidentiality.
Scoring Leaders
Scoring leaders must attend leadership training to familiarize themselves with NYSED guidelines and policies. In preparation for each training session, leaders must review all official scoring materials. Leaders will monitor scorer accuracy and consistency via ongoing read-behinds or other processes as required by NYSED. Leaders are responsible for collecting meaningful feedback from their scoring teams as requested by the management team.
Qualifications
Grades 3-8 Scorer
Minimum requirements include a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university, valid NYS teacher certification and teaching experience.
Regents Scorer
Minimum requirements include a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university, valid NYS teacher certification and teaching experience in the specific Regents-related course.
Scoring leader
Minimum requirements include a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university, valid NYS teacher certification and teaching experience.
Scoring leaders must be familiar with Common Core Learning Standards and have at least 3 years of scoring experience with a school district, regional scoring center or scoring vendor.
Compensation
$25.00 per hour for Scorers
$30.00 per hour for Regents Scorers and Scoring Leaders
